BRAMLEY, George Arthur “Poppa”

George was born on October 19, 1933 at James River just north of Sundre, Alberta and passed away on January 2, 2019. He is survived by his wife Alice; son Michael and his children Dallas and Dakota; daughter Beth (Garner) Meszaros and their children Cadence and Chazz; and his sister Josie (Bill) Rock. George was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Clara, and sisters Barbara and Hazel.
George was a Geophysicist and worked for Shell Canada, Digitech, CDP, Magnatrace, Pacific 66, then retired from Petro Canada after spending 40 years in the oil industry. One of George’s greatest achievements was being the first to discover large deposits of oil in Yutikama.
George was full of life and loved a great many things. Cars, horses, fishing, hiking, indoor and outdoor games of all kinds including cards, puzzles, golf. George was very proud of his grandchildren and loved to attend their sports and activities.
The family would like to thank the incredible team in ICU at the Peter Lougheed Centre for all of their kindness and capability during George’s hospital stay.
An informal gathering and viewing was held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Wheatland Funeral Home (202 Lakeside Blvd. Strathmore).
