BECK, William
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father and grandpa William Beck on October 3, 2018 at the age of 84 at Strathmore Hospital. Bill was born in Cluny Alberta on the farm March 12, 1934. He grew up enjoying every aspect of the farm from tending to the cattle, putting up hay, seeding and harvest. His true passion however was grain farming. He farmed with his brother Svend and father Nick until 1967 when his father moved to Calgary. Bill continued to farm right up until the age of 82. His love and devotion to the farm wore off on his son Jason and his grandsons Evinn and Brody. Bill’s love for the farm was only surpassed by his love for his family and grandchildren. Dean, Evinn and Brody were his world. From the many trips for treats, countless hours spent in equipment on the farm with them, to numerous minor hockey games, he loved and cherished every moment he spent with them. Bill always had a story or a joke (sometimes a little off color) for whoever he met. Bill loved his wife Marilyn and they would often be seen in their yard and garden making it into their own little paradise. William was Predeceased by his daughter Launa Beck, sisters Agnes Michie (Beck), Katie Wilson (Beck) Dorothy Beck, brother Svend Beck. William is survived by his wife of 56 years Marilyn, son Jason and his wife Dawn and their sons Dean, Evinn and Brody, and his sisters Jenny Gordon (Beck) and Kris Fraser (Beck). “And so it’s into the field I go to lose my mind and find my soul”.
