VAN VERDEGEM, Jonathan

VAN VERDEGEM, Jonathan

Jonathan was born March 6, 1999 and went to see God on July 3, 2018. He was the most kind and gentle soul a person could ever meet, caring for others always before himself. He was a very moral person. Always keeping you on the straight and narrow. He was his mom’s antique buddy, enjoying going to sales together. He altar served and served his Savior from grade two until now. He restored vintage typewriters and loved to tinker on classic cars and trucks. No words can possibly summarize such a truly wonderful person he was. He is forever loved by his mom Karen and his dad Doug, twin sister Krysta (Kyle), brother Steve (Janelle), and was adored by his nephew Grayson, his paternal grandpa George, his maternal grandma Mary and countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jon was such and inspiration on how to live the Catholic life and how to be a good person. As a mother, I ask you to take under your wing the wounded soul, those who may be a little different and to be kind. It’s a tribute to the short and beautiful life of our “old soul” Jonathan. May God keep you safe and cherished in His loving embrace. A prayer service was held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Hope Community Covenant Church (245 Brent Blvd. Strathmore) at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, July 7 also at Hope Community Covenant Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment followed at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Strathmore.
