Wayne Douglas Scott was born in Ontario on September 2,1951 and died in the Strathmore, Alberta Hospital November 25, 2025 after a strenuous battle with cancer. Wayne was adopted into the Scott family of parents Elizabeth and Ralph with children William, Lila and Mary when he was 4 years old. Living first in Trenton, Ontario on the Airforce Base where Ralph was a jet pilot and later at the Lincoln Park Airforce Base in Calgary.
Wayne married Willi (Wilhelmina) (nee Van Overdyk)(now deceased – 2017) and had 2 children Trevor (of Calgary) and Karen (of Kelowna). Wayne was predeceased by his father and mother from Calgary (Ralph – 2005, Elizabeth – 2015), and nephew from Ottawa (David Scott – 2018).
Wayne drove long distance trucks throughout Western Canada as well as into the United States for decades and regaled friends and family with narratives arising from various ‘outstanding or memorable’ trips.
Wayne leaves behind wife Dawn MacIntyre-Scott.
Wayne was deeply loved by family and friends and will be remembered for his love of animals and nature. Wayne also had a strong interest in photography taking many beautiful pictures over the years. Wayne made friends easily and loyalty came from deep within him. He will be sorely missed.
