It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anne Schneider (nee Buye). Anne passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 22, 2026, at the age of 96 years. Anne was born December 2, 1929, in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan. While at a baseball game, she met the love of her life, Ben Schneider. Together on the farm they raised their 2 boys and then surprise surprise…14 years later little Denise made her appearance and completed the family! Ben and Anne enjoyed being active members of the Fox Valley Community until they moved to Medicine Hat, Alberta in 1986. Anne will always be remembered for being the first to lend a helping hand, for her delicious recipes that included “a little of this, and some of that” and for her undying love of garage sales, cards and bingo. She fiercely loved her children and grandchildren and will be dearly missed. 

Anne will be lovingly remembered by her two brothers, Alex (Irene) Andy (Esther); her sister Josie; her children Lyle (Sandy) Schneider and Denise (Cordell) Verweire; daughter-in-law Gwen Schneider; grandchildren Scott (Elizabeth), Chase (Stella), Simon (Lauren), Amanda (Andrew) and Krystal (Brent); 10 great grandchildren and hundreds of nieces and nephews. Anne was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin; her eldest son, Keith; her granddaughter Stacey; and her siblings Nick, Eva, Tillie, Alice, Rose, Edward and Pearl.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made in Anne’s name to a charity of your own choice.
