Schelske,Judith (Judy) Elaine (nee Lassiter) 

Judith (Judy) Elaine Schelske (nee Lassiter) passed away on January 20, 2026, at the age of 83 in Strathmore Hospital. She was surrounded by her children and grandchildren in her last days.

Judy was born to Oscar Bruce (OB) and Alice Lassiter in Chin Alberta, the second youngest of 12 children. The family later moved to Duchess, AB onto the John Ware Ranch for a time before settling in Bassano, AB.

In her younger years Judy was active in the Girl Scouts, and various school activities. After marrying Glen and settling on the Schelske family farm near Cluny, she enjoyed a very busy life as a farm wife, artist, avid reader and loving mother to her 3 children. She was very community minded and was Honored Royal Lady with the Bassano Royal Purple/Elks for two terms.

Judy is survived by her sons Randy (Myrna), Eldon (Tina), and her daughter Maria (Darcy), grandchildren Adam, Thomas, Nicole (Chase), Amanda (Dustin), and Melissa. Great grandchildren Kayson, Tyler, Sophia, Amelia, Leah, Jace and Maci. And her siblings Caral, Nina, Toby and Lynne.

She is pre-deceased by her husband Glen, siblings Shirley Mae, Eric Bruce, Mildred, Patrica, Stan, Byron and Leonard.

A memorial service for Judith will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Wheatland Funeral Chapel.
