The Strathmore Musical Arts Society is bringing rising country music star Travis Dolter to the Strathmore Travelodge on Feb. 22.
Dolter’s passion for music ignited at the tender age of five when he began performing with his Ukrainian family band. Over the years he has evolved into a dynamic entertainer, captivating audiences with his engaging stage presence and diverse musical repertoire.
“I grew up singing in the Ukrainian family band from when I was about five years old. I just really got this itch for performing because I had this opportunity to do it,” said Dolter. “My piano player, Lane Anderson, was actually born and raised in Strathmore and he’s probably my best friend so I go to Strathmore quite a bit.”
Attendees can anticipate a blend of original songs and classic covers all delivered with Dolter’s signature enthusiasm. He emphasized the importance of storytelling in his performances.
“Every song that I write has a story behind it,” he said. “I like to look at the positives in life and just kind of make people laugh and make people smile.”
His music reflects his small-town roots, blending country influences with elements of old rock and roll. Known for his positive and lively attitude, Dolters storytelling through song resonates with a wide range of audiences.
One of Dolter’s notable tracks, Hell of a Saturday Night, was inspired by nostalgic reflections on barn dances and has garnered significant attention, even being featured during Hockey Day in Canada.
“We started just talking about, kind of our past and how we just missed those days of barn dances,” he said. “It was always a hell of a Saturday night when you went to one.”
