mmunity of Lakewood, Scott Silva, director of sales and marketing for Lakewood of Strathmore, reflected on the results of 2024 within the community.
“It was one of the biggest years yet – we were able to not only give back to local and national campaigns, but we once again raised and donated over $100,000 to local charities and national charities as well,” said Silva. “Organizations such as True North Society … Strathmore Legion, and the Strathmore Overnight Shelter.”
Silva added the community was excited to partner with organizations such as the Strathmore and District Agricultural Society, Global Fest, The Cooperators, and Baldwin BBQ to host or be a part of a variety of public events throughout the year.
New builders have also begun to introduce themselves into the growing community, and Lakewood of Strathmore was able to move through its Phase 2A development, literally paving the way for the launch of Phase 2B.
“One of the things that we launched in Phase 2A, which ended in 2024, was our phased sponsorship of regional or national charities and organizations – nonprofits that give back to communities,” he said. “One thing that we are very proud of, we were able to do our cheque presentation with Paul Brandt, and #NotInMyCity.
“That was a monumental moment for us, not only to be successful in that phase of development, but also to be able to give back to the community. This year, we are going to do that again with Phase 2B; we have 76 lots, so that is something we will announce later.”
Now that Brave Park has been completed and officially opened, events such as a pancake breakfast, car show, or the #NotInMyCity cheque presentation have been able to use the park as a venue, hosting upwards to 200 to 300 people at a time.
Also in 2024, Lakewood of Strathmore was proud to host a giveaway which provided $50,000 to a new homeowner who will soon be moving into the community.
As 2025 kicks into gear, so too does Phase 2B of the community development, which consists of duplexes, fourplexes, and rear-lane detached garage homes.
This will also create infrastructure for carriage homes, being suites above garages that are separated from the primary dwelling on a property.
Medium density townhomes are on the horizon for Lakewood, which will help to further grow housing availability within the town and community, as well as the variety of housing options able to be found locally.
With construction ongoing for the manmade lake, development of the community prepares to boast the recreational waterfront upon its completion in roughly two years’ time.
