HOFF,Beverly Gail

July 16, 1937 – January 26, 2025

It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beverly Gail Hoff, of Strathmore, Alberta, on January 26, 2025, at the age of 87.

Bev was born July 16, 1937, in Fort St. John, British Columbia, to Jack and Dolly Parker. Raised on a farm in Montney, BC, alongside her four sisters, from a young age she learned the values of hard work, and resiliency.  She attended boarding school in Fort St. John before working in town.  She married her first husband, Victor Aalhus, in 1960; a farmer who was also raised in the region. They built a life in the community of Baldonnel, farming and raising their children, Nikolena, John, and Bruce. They had an active life of attending community dances, baseball games and curling events. With a vast group of friends and family, Bev never left the house without encountering someone she knew.

Bev was a pillar of her community and church, always offering a warm smile and a fresh pot of coffee to anyone who dropped by. After Victor’s sudden passing in 1984, Bev demonstrated remarkable strength, continuing to run the farm with her son John. Fate smiled upon her when she met Ed Hoff, a kind and caring man with whom she started a new chapter on their farm near Gleichen, AB. Bev and Ed thrived together, managing their Evertight Fence Anchor business and traveling the world—their favorite spot being the island of Kauai.

Throughout her life, Bev found solace, joy, and lasting friendships in her faith community at the Lutheran church. Her strength was exemplified as she cared for Ed in his final years until his passing in 2024.

Bev was known for her generosity, and deep devotion to her family. She was immensely proud of all of her and Ed’s grandchildren, celebrating their achievements and milestones. Her home was a source of pride, adorned with stunning flower gardens. Bev always dressed with flair, no matter the occasion. She cherished history, meaningful conversations over meals with family and friends, and creating a warm and welcoming home.

Bev’s enduring strength, practicality, and spirit were remarkable, and she will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family. Her legacy of kindness and resilience will live on through the many lives she touched.

Bev is survived by her three children, Nikolena (David), John (Joan), Bruce (Marilyne); her step-children Christine (Kent), Peter (Cynthia), Richard (Lisa); her grandchildren Melissa, Jill, Lauren, Todd, Curtis, Brielle and Kaleb; her step-grand children Mackenzie (Asha), Jamie (Jason), Kaela (Andrew), Bergen, Regina (Seth), Naomi, Cole, Phoebe and Sara; as well as her step great-grandchildren Oliver, Wesley, Eleanor, Elliot, Joy and Henley. She is also survived by her sisters, Joyce, Edith and Mary Rose. She was predeceased by her first husband, Victor, her second husband, Edward, and her sister June.

Bev’s funeral will be held Saturday, February 8th, 2025, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hussar at 11:00 am with lunch to follow.
