January 12, 1946 – January 20, 2025
We are sad to announce the passing of Linda Dianne Farris on January 20, 2025 in Vancouver B.C.
Linda was born at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary on January 12, 1946 and lived with her parents Edna and Jack Warrack, along with older brothers Melvin, Robert and Bruce near the hamlet of Cheadle, Alberta.
Linda very much enjoyed living on the family farm and attended Samuel Crowther school at Strathmore, Alberta for grades 1-12, graduating in 1964.
Linda then enrolled in the University of Calgary and graduated in 1967 with a B.A. in economics, a subject she thoroughly enjoyed.
After graduation, Linda worked for the federal government, using her knowledge in economic forecasting for the department of Manpower and Immigration. Linda’s employment for the federal government resulted in placements in Halifax, Calgary and Vancouver.
Linda was predeceased by her parents, Edna and Jack and her brothers Melvin, Robert and Bruce along with sister-in-law Margaret (Melvin).
She is lovingly remembered by her son, James Farris who attended to her needs in her later years.
She is also survived by her sister-in-law Gwen Warrack (Bruce) and numerous nieces and nephews and their families in and around Strathmore.
James will be announcing a celebration of Linda’s life that will hopefully be held in the Cheadle Hall later this year.
