Eigner, Clayton

Eigner,Clayton

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our brother, Clayton Eigner on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the age of 71.

He will be missed by his sisters, Lorraine Lawton (Bob), Arlene Sorenson (John Bart), Doreen Nugent, and Connie Eigner (Ray Lafortune); numerous nieces and nephews; his hunting and fishing buddies; as well as his two dogs, Chevy and Cappy.  He was predeceased by his mother and father, Ed and Emily Nicholls Eigner; and his infant brother, Irvin.

Clay attended the U of A and completed his degree in Mechanical Engineering while working in Calgary.  After a successful career in engineering, Clay purchased several acres outside of Calgary where he hobby farmed until his death. Clay was best known for his intense love of hunting and fishing. He also loved water and snow skiing as well as trying to beat his parents and siblings in family card games.

He was also known for his frugality and often shopped at garage sales, second hand stores and auctions. He would purchase or be gifted several old farm machines, take them home and use the parts from those machines to make one functional machine. He wasted nothing and he threw away nothing.

A Celebration of Clay’s Life will be held in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clayton’s memory to either the S.P.C.A or to the Heart and Lung (stroke) Society.
