CHRISTENSEN, Jacquelyn (Jackie)
Christensen,Jacquelyn (Jackie)
Jacquelyn (Jackie) Christensen, passed away peacefully at the age of 74 on November 15, 2025, in Strathmore, Alberta, surrounded by her family.
Born in Wheatland, WY, on February 11, 1951, Jackie was the oldest child to Bud and Lois Short. She grew up on a farm outside of Wheatland with her younger brothers, Mike and Sand Dee.
Jackie always had a love and passion for horses and rodeo. That passion led to her receiving a rodeo scholarship to Casper College in Casper, WY, in 1969. In 1970, it was there that she met her husband, Dale. In 1971, she moved to Alberta with Dale, and they married in 1973. In 1976, they welcomed their son, Todd, and in 1980 came their daughter, Kelli.
Jackie and Dale lived in Calgary from 1973 to 1975. Jackie worked for Hudson’s Bay Oil and Gas, and Dale worked for the Department of Agriculture. In 1975, they moved to the Carseland area to contribute to the Christensen family farm (Home Coulee Farms). In 2006, they retired from farming, and in 2013 they moved to Strathmore. Jackie and Dale enjoyed many years of retirement together. They especially loved spending their winters in Yuma, AZ, while they could.
Jackie loved and lived for nothing more than her family. She is lovingly survived by her husband, Dale; her son, Todd (Melissa); grandson, Dane; granddaughter, Hayley; and her daughter, Kelli (Mike). She was predeceased by her father, Bud; mother, Lois; and brothers, Mike and Sand Dee.
Jackie fought a fierce battle against kidney failure for the past few years. Sadly, she just couldn’t fight anymore, and we had to say goodbye.
Jackie will forever be loved and missed by her family, friends, and everyone who knew her.
