BISHOP,Helen Elizabeth “Betty”
On the 13th of May 2025 Betty passed away peacefully with her family holding her hands.
Betty was born in Carmen, Manitoba on December 9, 1944, to Ben and Myrtle Dueck. She lived in Manitoba until the age of 20, then moved to Banff, Alberta in 1965.
Betty met and married Bruce, who was in the RCMP and stationed in Banff, in 1967. They moved to Brooks, Alberta, where their children, Belinda and Farley, were born. From Brooks, they moved to Elk Point, Red Deer, and then Strathmore in 1984 until she passed.
Betty sold Avon and had a mail rural route in Strathmore. She has been across Canada and the U.S. with Bruce in Lions. Betty was very supportive of Bruce in his Lions journey. She was very bubbly and outgoing and loved meeting people, where she could strike up a conversation with anyone.
Betty has five grandchildren: Brendan, Eric, Logan, Madison, and Haven. She lived a good life.
Betty has donated her organs and, at her request, will be cremated. There will be no funeral service.
