1956 – 2025

Mr. Thomas Ray Bergquist of Red Deer, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Hospice on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at the age of 68 years. 

Thomas was born and raised in Standard, Alberta, and moved to Red Deer after finishing High School. He then began working in logistics for Coca-Cola and eventually transferred to his lifelong career at CP Rail, where he earned the position of Engineer. Thomas proudly operated trains on frequent endeavours throughout Alberta, making lots of friends along the way. 

He enjoyed camping, spending time outdoors, and he could always be found at the Three Mile Bend with his dog, Dono. To whomever he met, he was always willing to lend a helping hand. Thomas loved a good card game and was skilled at games like War and Crazy Rummy. 

Thomas will be lovingly remembered by his two sons, Christopher (Miriam) and Devon (Jordan) Bergquist, and his daughter, Katrina Bergquist; his nine grandchildren; his brother, Lonnie, and his sisters, Bonnie, Jo-Anne, and Linda. Thomas was predeceased by his father, Ole and his mother, Benita, his brother, Danny, and his daughter, Raelena. 

A Celebration of Thomas’ Life will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 40 Holmes Street, Red Deer, Alberta, on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Thomas’ honor may be made directly to the Red Deer Hospice Society at www.reddeerhospice.com.
