New faces at the Rosebud Chamber Music Festival

By Strathmore Times

The stage is set in the beautiful valley for the annual Rosebud Chamber Music Festival July 3-7.

This year’s lineup features talented musicians from Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto – who bring their musical mastery to the stage, whether they perform as soloists, orchestral players, or instructors.

The festival will offer a full concert program, including César Franck’s captivating piano quintet.

Returning from concerts in Yellowknife and Powell River, the dynamic duo of Keith Hamm and Julie Hereish will once again bring their boundless energy to the festival.

Joining them is Diana Cohen, violinist and concertmaster of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, known for her dazzling performances with the CPO and at ChamberFest West in Calgary.

Amy Hillis, a violinist originally from Regina, now teaching and performing in Toronto, brings her phenomenal musicianship and passion to the stage.

Additionally, pianist Todd Yaniw, who has performed at concert halls across Canada, will also be on hand.

The Rosebud Chamber Music Festival has a reputation for riveting performances, and this year promises to continue that tradition with a mix of new and returning artists.

The Rosebud Chamber Music Festival beings on July 3 (7 p.m.) with a “Wings and Strings” event in the Rosebud Mercantile. The festival will continue on July 5 (7 p.m.) with a performance at the Three Hills Academy and on July 7 (3 p.m.) at the Rosebud Church.

A ticket for either the Three Hills or Rosebud concert also grants free access to the “Wings and Strings” on July 3. Enjoy an evening of food, beverages, and impromptu music-making by world-class performers as they sight-read music for the sheer joy of it.
