Dillon, John W.
Dillon,John W.
September 25, 1945 – July 31, 2024
It’s with great sadness I announce the passing of my husband of 50 years. He was born to Stanly and Marion Dillon in Burton, N.B., the third child of eight.
In 1964 he moved to Kingston, Ont., then in 1966 moved to Calgary, and then to Strathmore.
In 1969 he started on the road crew with the County of Wheatland, and after five years transferred to the maintenance department. In 2001 he retired from the county, totalling 31 years.
After retiring from the county, he worked for Eagle Lake Nurseries as a truck driver. Then in 2007, we moved to Valleyview Alta. He contracted his carpentry skills to the Town of Valleyview a couple of years and then retired for good.
He was a very skilled carpenter and could build or fixed almost anything.
Earlier in life, he loved to hunt and fish, and later it was camping, Argo riding, hiking, and just enjoying life.
He’s greatly missed by his wife, Betty and all family members.
A memorial will be held in John’s honour on Oct. 26 at 3 p.m at Evangel Temple in Valleyview, Alta.
