MELCHER, Brent Edward
MELCHER,Brent Edward
March 3rd 1965 – February 19th, 2023
Our dearest Brent left us so suddenly and tragically on February 19th, 2023, in a single motor vehicle rollover. Brent is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of thirty four and a half years, Pamela; his son Gavin and his daughter Carly Rose and her husband Tyler Boutin, who together recently welcomed Brent’s newest pride and joy, his baby Granddaughter, Brayla Rose, that he loved so much.
Also, he leaves many loved ones behind to mourn his passing. His parents Sharon and Odo Melcher, older brother Randy and younger brother Colin with his girls Paeton and Reagan. Pamela’s parents, Dale and Leona Miller, and his sister in-law Faye (Todd) McGhee, their children Mike (Kelsie) Leonhardt, Curtis (Anna) Leonhardt and their boys Parker and Shia, Courtney Leonhardt, Keara McGhee, and Daylan McGhee, along with his sister in-law Karen (Peter) Flannigan and their boys Bryan and Tanner.
Brent and Pamela purchased land from Ace Explosives in 1988 where they lived and raised Gavin and Carly; where many memories were created and will be treasured forever. Brent spent his life working with cattle on their farm. His passion for cattle was demonstrated daily, and he was well known and respected in the cattle community. Brent drove school bus for 33 years where he watched kids begin and complete grade school which created special lifelong bonds.
Throughout the years Brent has been on many committees such as the Rockyford Ag Society, the Minor Hockey and Ringette Associations, Rockyford Hall Board, and St Rita’s Parish Council. Here and in many ways he worked effortlessly for community, family and friends.
Brent played hockey all his life and along with that took on the roles of referee, coach, and fan of the game which he lived and breathed. One of his greatest loves was his Hockey Outlaw Nights; the games, the guys, the shoot outs, and the food (not too spicy please!). On February 19th, they played a winning game in which he contributed a breakaway goal. It was while on the way home with teammates, that he was taken suddenly from this world.
He was simply the best, Husband, Father, Grandpa, Son, Son in Law, Uncle, Cousin, Friend, Teammate, Mentor, and Coach anyone could have ever wanted. We love you.
