ROSS, Marlene Elizabeth
ROSS,Marlene Elizabeth
Our most beautiful beloved Marlene Ross, wife of Don Ross, mother of four children and eleven grandchildren, passed away peacefully at Strathmore Hospital on Saturday, September 24, 2022.
Born December 24, 1940 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Marlene was the beloved wife of Don Ross of 62 years.
Marlene met her beloved Don when he was stationed in Yorkton with the RCMP. They got married and moved to many places within Saskatchewan, in Don’s 25 years of service with the RCMP. Packing/unpacking personal belongings and four children for 6-7 moves throughout those 25 years and meeting many beautiful people who became lifelong friends.
After Don’s retirement, they moved to Calgary and then eventually, 30 years ago, to Strathmore.
Marlene was one of the hardest working people, raising four children and working full time most of those years. She was always cooking and canning for the whole family and many friends and relatives. Marlene worked full time for Electrolux Canada front desk and bookkeeping, The Bay as bookkeeper, Western Canada’s Top Sales Manager for Avon, and owner/operator of her own business for 10 years.
Marlene loved to curl and being the skip, had won many bonspiels.
Marlene was the most selfless person we ever knew, helping those in need and those who were less fortunate.
Our lovely, beautiful mom/wife went to heaven on September 24 to be with our beloved brother/son who passed away 19 years ago, September 2003.
We will all miss our Marlene dearly. Dad will miss his beautiful wife dearly…her hugs, laugh, smile, jokes, and love of curling, (never missing any games that came on tv), shopping at second hand stores, cooking, canning, gardening, her beautiful way with words, and as much family time as she could possibly get. Our hearts are so sad without Marlene.
Mom: you were the most kind, gentle and giving wife, mother, grandmother that anyone could have ever asked for! May you be dancing in heaven with no pain and so much laughter! Love you forever!!
We would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and Physio at Strathmore hospital. Mom was so thankful for everyone of you, trying to help her get better. She was so sad that she had to be there, yet so thankful for everything that was done for her.
Lastly, thank you to all the neighbour’s, friends, and relatives who sent flowers, food, phoned, and visited.2022
