Local rodeo athletes to compete at Strathmore Stampede

There is a host of local athletes competing during this year’s Strathmore Stampede, running from July 29 to Aug. 1.
Competing in bareback is Tate Hartell, hailing from Strathmore as a CFR qualifier.
Also competing from Strathmore is Dawson Johnson, in both Tie Down and Team Roping. As of July 8, he was ranked 27th in Tie Down Roping for the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA) boasting 4,304.50 points.
CRF qualifier Denver Johnson from Strathmore is also competing in Team Roping.
Strathmore’s Debbie Knudson will be competing in Ladies Barrel Racing. Among the competitors against her will be Jayden Wilson, hailing from Gleichen.
From Wheatland County, Ethan Schultz and Bryn Roy will be competing in Bull Riding and Steer Wrestling, respectively.
Roy ranks 24th for Steer Wrestling in the CPRA standings, as of July 15.
Rodeo events will begin at the Agriterra Stadium at 1 p.m. on Friday through Sunday, and at 3 p.m. on championship Monday in the same location.
