Conservative Party of Canada elects new leader

Martin Shields, Member of Parliament for Bow River released the following statement on the election of the new Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition, Pierre Poilievre.

“I would like to extend my best wishes and congratulate Pierre Poilievre on his election as leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition,” said MP Shields. “With such a resounding victory as it was, the Conservative Party has never been more united. 

“We must now work towards defeating Justin Trudeau and the Liberals to undo the damage caused by out of control spending and policies that have directly led to a cost-of-living crisis and soaring inflation. 

“I look forward to working with Pierre and our Conservative caucus to give Canadians a sensible, responsible Government and once again make Canada the greatest country to live on earth.”
