The Times ranks top three in photography and advertising

The Strathmore Times placed third in two categories for advertising and photography at the Alberta Weekly Newspaper Association (AWNA) 2020 Better Newspapers Competition (BNC) Awards of Excellence on May 28. 

The Times was announced as a finalist in both the 2020 awards of excellence competition as well as the photographic awards competition in early May. 

Placing third in the awards of excellence competition for Use of Colour in Advertising competition was an ad created for Active Performance Programs, utilizing a green colour spectrum, designed by Strathmore Times production manager, Jody Schneider. 

In the photography awards, Sitting Pretty, a photo by Sean Feagan, place third in the feature photo category. 

The AWNA BNC awards are held annually to celebrate the achievements of Alberta newspaper members by hosting a competition for special awards in categories such as editorial, photography, advertising and special promotion.
