PETERSON, Eldon Gunnar
PETERSON,Eldon Gunnar
October 3, 1930 – July 23, 2021
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa Eldon Gunnar Peterson on July 23, 2021 at the age of 90 in Strathmore.
Eldon was born in Redvers, Saskatchewan on October 3, 1930. He came to Alberta in 1949 and started working for farmers in the Cluny area. He met Mary Anne and they were married in 1958. Together they purchased some land and started their farming life. From grain, chickens, pigs and cattle, dad had a great fun-filled life. He always enjoyed the neighbors stopping in for a cup of coffee or a little nip in the shop. Five o’clock Saturday was quitting time because there was always a local area dance that him and Mary Anne loved to go to. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren which we all have fond memories of.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Mary Anne; children Barry, Allan and Carol (Jay); grandchildren Kassandra (Greg), Ayllissa, Brandon, Kimberly (Eric) and Kristine (Allan); and great grandchildren Braylin, Kason, Jaxon and Cooper.
He was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Johanna; brother Donald; sister Myrtle; and brothers-in-law, Ted and Harvey. He is survived by brother Benny (Marcelle); sisters Bernice (Bob), Beth, and Carol (Paul); sister-in-law Glendy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. He was the best!
A small family memorial will be held at a later date.
