Strathmore will be rocking next Saturday, to the benefit of the local food bank.
Sounds of the Prairies, a drive-in concert experience, is being held at the Strathmore ag grounds at 8 p.m. on Sept. 19. The concert will feature virtual performances by four bands: Blake Reid Band, Lewis & Royal, LOCALS and Over The Moon.
The event is being hosted by the Strathmore Musical Arts Society in conjunction with the Strathmore Wheatland Chamber of Commerce, the Town of Strathmore and the Strathmore and District Agricultural Society.
“There will be some really good music to hopefully get people upbeat,” said Shawn Kisling, executive director of the chamber. “We’re seeing a lot of these concert experiences happening all over North America, so it’s great to have one here in Strathmore.”
The grounds can accommodate up to 300 vehicles, on a first-come first-served basis. Admission is a donation to the Wheatland County Food Bank, either by providing a non-perishable item or a small cash contribution.
