TYERMAN,William Lloyd 

July 1, 1927 – July 21, 2020

Lloyd was born in Tisdale Saskatchewan to parents Hazel (Reynolds) and Howard Tyerman. His family consisted of 7 girls and 5 boys and his siblings have since deceased. His brother Gordon’s wife, Kay Tyerman and a few nieces and nephews remain.

Lloyd was a kind and gentle man with a strong code of ethics that guided him throughout his life. At the young age of 14, he left home for bush camp, hauling lumber and cutting trees to support his family. During his life, he had many different jobs, mostly maintenance related in and around the town of Strathmore. Within the area, Lloyd worked for farmers helping with grain bins and buildings Lloyd was well liked and known within the community and spent time with friends and the people he loved. He was an active man, enjoying his walks about town, his gardening, leisurely drives with his very dear friend Leo, who also helped Lloyd work on local farmer’s grain bins and buildings. He truly enjoyed getting to know the local people and was a very hard worker, spending many years working for the Whitley’s, who owned the Strathmore Hotel, taking care of maintenance.

Known for his sweet smile and genuine care and concern for the people in his life, he was always a welcome visitor. Lloyd enjoyed sitting with friends over a beer or two especially on a summer day with Oscar Smeigel, Leo Helfrich and friends at the Strathmore Legion. He would often announce when he was ready to leave he needed go home to the Mrs., which always brought out a laugh or two.

Lloyd lived in tiny white one bedroom house which suited him perfectly. His garden was something to see and he tenderly took care of his yard with great pride. Holly hocks of all colors grew high on the side of the house which he was so proud of.

We will cherish the memories we have of him as he certainly left his mark on our hearts.  

Lloyd spent that couple of years of his life at Sagewood in Strathmore and we want to thank them for their support and heartfelt care. 

We would also like to thank Wheatland Funeral Home for all their amazing help and compassion.
