The 2020 Strathmore Stampede, scheduled for the August long weekend, has been cancelled.
The Strathmore and District Agricultural Society board members formalized the decision during a conference call Monday night.
“We’re making this announcement with heavy hearts, but with the clear understanding that there really was no other option both to protect the health of our loyal fans and to respect the decisions taken by the province of Alberta,” said Stef Leblanc, president of the board of directors of the ag society. “But we are a strong organization and a strong community; we’ll all get through this pandemic together and Strathmore Stampede 2021 will be better than ever.”
All tickets, Stampede camping and parking, sponsorship, vendor and trade show deposits will be automatically refunded within 60 days.
For ticket holders who wish to have their 2020 ticket purchase payment put towards the 2021 Stampede, they are asked to email the ag society at info@strathmorestampede.com and seats will be locked in for next year.

Cowboy Town Concert also cancelled
The ag society’s Aaron Pritchett and Emerson Drive Cowboy Town Concert, scheduled for June 6, has been postponed to June 5, 2021.
“Re-scheduling the concert to June 2021 allows us to be confident that we’ll be on the other side of the significant impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, including the restriction on mass gatherings,” said Ryan Schmidt, general manager of the ag society. “We know how much the community has been looking forward to our first Cowboy Town Concert, but for the time being we should remain focused on keeping our community healthy. Once through this we’ll be able to celebrate with Aaron Pritchett and Emerson Drive next year.”
All tickets and private suite purchases previously made will be valid for the new event date, and additional tickets are now on sale.
