Staggered entry to start of school

Strathmore’s students are headed back to school soon in what will be a staggered start.
With the Golden Hills School Division (GHSD), the first day of school is officially Tuesday, Sept. 1. But only half the student body will start that day, with the other half starting the following day, on Sept. 2.
At GHSD schools, this staggered approach will continue for six consecutive school days (Sept. 1 to 9), with all students at school together by Thursday, Sept. 10.
For Christ the Redeemer (CTR) Catholic Schools in Strathmore – Sacred Heart Academy and Holy Cross Collegiate – school starts on Monday, Aug. 31 for students with last names beginning with A to K, and on Sept. 1 for students with a last naming starting with L to Z. CTR is using this staggered approach on these two days only. Students from one family with different last names will be arranged according to the oldest sibling’s name.
