PRAEKER, Marie Louise
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our much-loved mom, grandma, and great grandma, Marie Louise Praeker. Marie Louise was born July 7th, 1925 in Strathmore and died peacefully on Nov. 4th, 2020 at the age of 95. Marie Louise was the eldest of 10 children. She grew up in the De Winton area and worked with her dad on the dairy farm and helped with her siblings. She married William Praeker on October 28, 1950. They farmed near Strathmore where they raised their 7 children. They enjoyed their retirement years in Strathmore. Mom lived at the Wheatland Lodge and Sagewood for her last few years where she was cared for lovingly. Mom was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish, CWL, Crowfoot Goodwill and assisted with 4-H and skating clubs. Marie Louise was a farmer, fixer, gardener, sewer, cook, baker, and baby whisperer, but most importantly a mother, true caregiver, and friend. She was like a mom to so many others. Her strength, character, hard work, wisdom, and faith are inspirational.
