A Wheatland County man is facing multiple charges, including two counts of attempted murder, following an altercation that left two people injured.
Jesse Lane Roberts, aged 24, has been charged with attempted murder with a firearm, attempted murder with a vehicle, pointing a firearm and assault with a weapon, according to Cpl. Tammy Keibel, RCMP media relations officer.
The events occurred the evening of July 29, prior to Strathmore RCMP responding to a report of an injured male and female on a rural property in Wheatland County.
Roberts is alleged to have shot the male with a firearm and run over the female with a vehicle at their residence, which the RCMP reported occurred after an altercation with two other adults known to the victims.
The injured male was reported to be suffering from serious life-threatening injuries, while the female had serious non-life-threatening injuries. They were subsequently transported to hospital via EMS. Their current condition has not been disclosed.
Roberts remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Strathmore Provincial Court on Aug. 21.
