Unfortunately, the Hawks lost all three of their games over the weekend.
“This is a developmental year for us,” said Hawks coach Connie Donais. “Our second game, against Dr. Elliott Community School from Linden, was our best game of the season so far. The girls really began working together and they showed great improvement, playing much more confidently and more aggressively.”
In this last half of the season, Donais is focusing on building the team’s confidence and trying to tailor their game to the skills and abilities they have.
“We need more confidence driving to the net, and to work on rebounding and transitioning into fast break opportunities,” she said.
But even with a losing record, there are some bright spots.
“The girls are dedicated to learn with each practice and show off their skills with each game,” she said.
