JA Southern Alberta offers online programming for students
By Janet Kanters, Editor
Volunteers, donors, parents and students in southern Alberta now have access to Junior Achievement (JA) Southern Alberta’s JA Digital Campus.
JA Digital Campus is an online, self-directed and teacher-led program available for students in grades three to 10. The programming is aligned with Alberta’s curriculum and learner outcomes for all grades, providing students with the opportunity to engage in JA programming throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to JA Southern Alberta, the investment in online learning by JA will improve student access to resources focused on basic economics, personal finance and career planning for the future.
“We know that this has been an incredibly difficult time for educators, parents and students. JA Southern Alberta is proud to offer this innovative online programming that will improve financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship skills that students need to thrive in their future careers, despite the challenges we face with COVID-19 and the downturn in our global economy,” said Melissa From, CEO, JA Southern Alberta. “At JA Southern Alberta, we pride ourselves on being innovative and nimble. We will continue to ensure our programming responds swiftly to the changing needs of educators, parents and students, and are committed to supporting our community, especially during this time of uncertainty.”
