Area man wanted for ‘serious sexual offences’ arrested

Jason Aaron Sunwalk, 30, of Siksika Nation was arrested this past weekend after police asked for the public’s assistance to find Sunwalk, who was wanted for sexual offences.

On May 1, Gleichen RCMP received a complaint of historical sexual assaults that had allegedly occurred in the Siksika Nation area. The police investigation led to multiple charges for serious sexual offences against Sunwalk. Gleichen RCMP’s initial efforts to locate Sunwalk were unsuccessful, and so the public’s assistance was requested.

RCMP did not provide details about the number of alleged victims or the assaults.

Sunwalk is currently in custody and will be held for a judicial hearing.
