Several charges laid after seizure of drugs and money

Gleichen RCMP have laid several charges against numerous individuals after the seizure of drugs, money and a stolen vehicle.
On Dec. 2, Gleichen RCMP received a call of suspicious persons in the area of Highway 547. Earlier that morning, Gleichen RCMP had been investigating a report of mischief to a residence in that same area.
Gleichen RCMP members attended the location and further investigation led to multiple arrests, the recovery of a stolen Dodge Ram truck, and seizure of methamphetamine, fentanyl, gabapentin pills, heroin, cocaine and approximately $6,000 in cash.
Paul McMaster (34) of Siksika Nation has been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, five counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and proceeds of crime. He was remanded into custody after a judicial hearing and appeared in Siksika Nation Provincial Court on Dec. 5 via CCTV.
Braden Jackson (18) of Calgary, was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and breach of a recognizance. He was released after a judicial hearing on his own recognizance and appeared in Siksika Nation Provincial Court on Dec. 12.
Jerry Yellow Old Woman (42) of Siksika Nation was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and breach of a recognizance. He was released after a judicial hearing on his own recognizance, and was scheduled to appear in Siksika Nation Provincial Court on Dec. 12.
A youth (16), who cannot be identified under the Provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of a controlled substance. The youth was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in Siksika Nation Provincial Court on Jan. 23, 2020.
“The danger posed by the presence of these or any type of drugs in our community cannot be overstated,” said Gleichen RCMP Detachment Commander Staff Sergeant Tim Kelly. “We will continue efforts to reduce the harm of drugs in our community by disrupting drug trafficking.”
