A three-goal second period propelled the Wheatland Kings to an impressive road win over the Cochrane Generals on Oct. 11 at the Cochrane Arena.
After a pair of losses the weekend before, the Kings picked up a critical 4-3 win over the second best team in the southern division, thus improving to 3-3 on the season.
After a scoreless first period, the Kings burst out for three goals in the second and held a 4-1 lead early in the third en route to the win.
Goaltender Brett Willan was impressive in net, stopping 40 of the 43 shots fired his way.
The Kings will now play a pair of home games, starting with a home date versus the Rocky Rams on Oct. 19 (8 p.m.) at the Strathmore Family Centre. The Kings will host the always tough Coaldale Copperheads the following day at 4:45 p.m.
