Innovation Rodeo at Bow Valley College

Bow Valley College is hosting Innovation Rodeo next week, with daily cash prizes and a final pitch competition.
Held Monday July 8th to Friday July 12th, the Innovation Rodeo includes a $25,000 pitch competition and $6,000 in cash prizes for the innovation challenges that run Tuesday through Thursday.
The Innovation Rodeo uses lunch and learns, innovation challenges and pitch competitions to help problem solvers, innovators and entrepreneurs connect with each other, to share ideas and develop the relationships and skills needed to commercialize their ideas faster.
International business development expert Barbara Weaver Smith, from Chandler, Ariz., is the event’s keynote speaker Monday afternoon and she will show participants how to sell more to Fortune 500 companies.
The topics for the Tuesday through Thursday lunch panels include Buying and Selling a Business, Customer Acquisition, and Exporting to the U.S. and Beyond.
Friday afternoon, a successful CEO will share how to build a billion-dollar company, and the event wraps up with the provincial finals of the $25,000 pitch competition.
Proceeds from the Innovation Rodeo go towards 150 Startups – a province-wide entrepreneurship development program for first-time entrepreneurs in colleges and universities across Alberta.
