The holidays are a time for celebrating with family and friends. Strathmore Fire Department would like to remind everyone to celebrate safely.
Here are some holiday safety tips to keep you and your loved ones safe:
• Unplug Christmas tree lights before leaving your home or going to bed.
• Never leave candles unattended. Ensure that flammable materials are kept away from candles.
• Ensure real Christmas trees are watered daily.
• Keep holiday decorations away from open flame, candles and holiday lights.
• Ensure all exits in the home are free of clutter and decorations, and that all members and guests of your household are aware of the exit plan in case of emergency.
