On Saturday, April 27, 2019 our dear husband, dad and grandpa, Art Edwards passed away from this life to be with his Lord at the age of 96 years.
Arthur Earl Edwards was born on April 5, 1923, in the family home near Three Hills, Alberta.
Art went to Olds College for a year, then graduated from Washington State University in 1948, with a degree in Agriculture. In 1952, he married Laura Edwards. Art worked as a District Agriculturist in Lethbridge, Sedgewick, Strathmore and Calgary until 1987 when he retired.
He enjoyed camping, gardening and fishing, and served on numerous boards over the years. Art was known for his attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, administration abilities and his deep love for his wife and four daughters.
Art is survived by his loving wife Laura and his four daughters, Lori and her husband Roger Snoxell, Donna and her husband John Munch, Norma and her husband Don Giovanetto, and Anne and her husband Keith Braun; grandchildren Jennifer, Jonathan, Stephen, Lisa, Laura, and Bethany.
Art was predeceased by both his brothers Homer and Larry; and his step-siblings Allan Edwards and Beth Duff.
The family would like to thank the Doctors and nurses in the Strathmore Hospital; the wonderful homecare girls, who took such good care of Dad; the staff at the Wheatland Lodge; and the many friends and neighbours who went the extra mile to love and care for him in his later years. We are so grateful for your kindness to Mom and Dad.
A Celebration of life will be held at Hope Community Covenant Church (245 Brent Blvd, Strathmore, AB) on Saturday, May, 18, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the church hall. Condolences may be forwarded through www.McInnisandHolloway.com
