The Wheatland Warriors extended their winning streak to five games after sweeping a pair of weekend games to open the month.

The Warriors improved to 8-2-1 the following day with a road win in Okotoks.
Cole Grant scored twice and added an assist, while Brandon McGillivray added a goal and two assists to lead the Warriors, who remain first in the south conference.
Eric Castro added a goal and an assist, and Alberda scored once to round out the scoring. Holm chipped in a pair of assists, while Parker Forrest stopped 32 of 34 shots he faced.
The Warriors will now prepare for a rematch with the Foothills Bisons on the road in their lone weekend game on Nov. 10.
Tough weekend
It was difficult weekend for the Wheatland Chiefs as they only claimed one of a possible four points in double-A midget action.
The Chiefs earned a 3-3 draw versus the Red Deer Elks on Nov. 3 at the Strathmore Family Centre, before falling 3-1 to the Taber Golden Suns the following day in Hussar.
Jaycob Masciangelo scored twice and Stran Redcrow scored once to pace the Chiefs, while Tyren Grimsdale chipped in with a pair of assists. Landon Brassard made 30 saves on 33 shots.
The following day in Hussar was a defensive battle, as the Chiefs fell to Taber.
Redcrow scored the Chiefs lone goal on the power play in the second period, when he converted a feed from Ben Kruse and Bryce Benfield.
The 4-6-2 Chiefs will play their lone game of the weekend on Nov. 10 when they travel to Lethbridge. The next home game is Dec. 1 (4:45 p.m.) in Hussar, when they host the Medicine Hat Hounds.
Braves back to work
After a weekend away from South Central Alberta Hockey League action, the Wheatland Braves prepare for a pair of games.
The local double-A peewee team will travel to Medicine Hat on Nov. 9, before returning home to the Hussar Arena on Nov. 10 (3 p.m.) to host the undefeated West Central Tigers (10-0-1).
The Braves, who currently hold a 6-2-1 record, hold third place in the south conference, one point behind Lethbridge – with a game in hand.
