RCMP investigate injury collision

On Oct. 22, 2018, at approximately 6:25 p.m., Strathmore RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 1 at Highway 791, east of Chestermere. Preliminary investigation revealed that a stolen northbound truck entered the path of a westbound car, resulting in a collision. The adult female driver of the stolen truck fled the scene on foot but was quickly arrested by RCMP and transported to hospital by ground ambulance due to injuries sustained from the collision. An adult female and female child, both occupants of the car, were treated on scene for minor injuries.
All contributing factors related to this collision are being considered and the collision remains under investigation with the assistance of an RCMP collision analyst.
