1935-2018

Gordon passed away peacefully on January 29, 2018 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital at the age of 82 years.
Gordon was born in Drumheller, Alberta on Feb.7, 1935 he was the youngest son in a family of 9 children. Gordon took his schooling in Rockyford, then joining his Dad on the family grain and cattle farm.
Gordon married Norma Jean Paisley on January, 28, 1967 and they moved a house onto the farmed, welcomed three children Darren, Glenda & Debra and continued to farm untill 1996 when they retired and moved into Rockyford. Gordon then went to work for the Town of Rockyford and also helping part-time at the Rockyford Disposal Site with his brother Gerald.
Gordon was on the Lions’ Club, Knight of Columbus, Rodeo Committee and a volunteer hockey coach for many years. Gordon loved driving around Rockyford in his truck stopping at whoever had a pot of coffee on and eating Chinese Food.
Gordon is survived by his son Darren Katterhagen -children Rydyr and Kenzie; daughter Glenda Walter (Trent) – children Jordan, Morgan & Raegan; son in law Darren Stahl- children Sarah, Evan, and Moni Blanchard Katterhagen. Brother- Gerald Katterhagen (Billie), Sisters- Marie Leahy (Don), Normie Crowell, Shirley Hooper and Gordiana Procheyshen. Brother in laws- Don Paisley, Ken Paisley (Hazel Rumph), Doug Paisley; Sisters in law – Lois Friesen, Carol Goretsky (Dan) , Pearl Paisley, Elaine Fossen, Ann Katterhagen as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Gordon was predeceased by his wife Norma in 2005 and his daughter Debra in 2017. Parents- Irvin and Tracy Katterhagen, Parents in law- Fred and Jean Paisley: brothers, Irvin Katterhagen, sisters: Frances and Adele. Brothers in law: Johnny Crowell, Dick Janssen, Tim Loader, Dave Hooper, Ernie Procheyshen, Jake Freisen, Terry Paisley & Reg Paisley sisters in law: Marg Paisley as well some nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass Friday, February 2, 2018 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church, Rockyford at 11:00 a.m.
