Strathmore author, Audrey Gene, will be presenting a reading of her popular novel Of the Dragonfly at the Strathmore Municipal Library on Feb. 16 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for World Read Aloud Day.
The annual day draws attention to the importance of reading aloud and sharing stories. It is celebrated to motivate children and adults alike to celebrate the power of words.
This will be the first time Gene will be doing a reading at the Strathmore Library.
The event is free to attend, and after the reading, Gene will be signing and selling copies of her novel. She will also be donating several books to the Strathmore Library’s Little Free Library project.
Emily Gillis from Zenscapes by Emily will be putting on a terrarium class fundraiser at the Strathmore Library on Feb. 21, where participants will create a terrarium to take home.
The class is $40 and will run in two sessions from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. or 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Register for the class in person at the Strathmore Library as there is a limit of only 20 people per session, ages 14 and older. The proceeds from this class will help increase programs and services for the library.
