MYERS, “Bea” Elsie
April 16, 1938 – Hamilton, Ontario
November 10, 2017 – Vulcan, Alberta
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Beatrice “Bea” Elsie Myers on Friday, November 10, 2017 at the age of 79 years.
Bea was born on April 16th, 1938 in Hamilton, Ontario. She married Harley Myers on January 10, 1961 in Calgary, Alberta. Bea will be remembered for her strong character and her passion for ranching. As an avid horse enthusiast, she spent many hours making costumes and with the family in tow travelled across Alberta to parades and shows, and often reminisced about the friends and colleagues of the Horse Racing Community. Bea worked at Tilden Rent a Car all the while keeping up her duties at the ranch and enjoyed travelling overseas with Harley and back to Ontario to visit family as often as she could.
With a knack for knowing her pedigrees, Bea took pride in her prize-winning herd of Saler cattle, and enjoyed shows and bull sales. Following Harley’s passing May 28 1990, Boyd took over the ranching which allowed Bea to follow her other passion, breeding and showing Jack Russell Terriers across Western Canada and the USA.
Bea is survived by her son Boyd (Brenda); good friend, Shelia Crispin; several nieces and nephews.
Bea was predeceased by her husband Harley and parents, Elsie and Stephen Tweedle; sister, Ada; brother in-law, Byron Swackhammer and brother, Ron Tweddle.
As per Bea’s request there will be no service. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made in Bea’s memory to a charity of your choice. Special thanks, to all those who cared for Bea in her last years. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
