Haggis connoisseurs welcome

The Strathmore Masonic Lodge will be holding its annual Burns Supper on Jan. 21 at the Royal Canadian Legion.
The traditional supper, which has been running for more than 10 years, will include genuine haggis on the menu for haggis connoisseurs.
For those who don’t know, haggis is a traditional Scottish savoury pudding containing minced sheep heart, liver and lungs, onion, oatmeal, suet, stock and spices. However, if that doesn’t sound appealing to you, don’t let it stop you from attending the traditional supper as there are other menu options.
For those non-haggis lovers, the menu will also include roast beef and mashed potatoes, cock-a-leekie soup and dessert.
The dinner is open to everyone but tickets are limited to 100 people and they are selling out fast. Tickets cost $40 and include cocktail hour at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m.
At the dinner, there will be bagpipers playing, speeches given and other forms of entertainment, so be sure to check it out.
Tickets are available for purchase at the Strathmore Legion, at the Strathmore Value Drug Mart or by e-mailing Tom (tmcdonald02@shaw.ca).
