GILBERT, Rose Lilian
1926-2017

Our Beautiful English Rose Gilbert has happily re-joined her beloved husband Aubrey (Sam). Rose was born in Hamersmith, London England on September 5, 1926 and passed peacefully on March 3, 2017 at the age of 90, with family by her side. She cherished her 3 children: Colin (Sharon) Jeffrey (Brenda) and Janice (Walter Riewe) her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rose & Sam immigrated to Calgary in 1965, and had enjoyed living in Dewinton, Longview, High River, Okanagan Falls and Hines Creek before retiring in Strathmore. All who knew her loved her and spent many hours with her perusing photographs of her family, her gardens and her art work. To the end always a Lady, she will be remembered and missed. Thanks to the Doctors and staff at the Strathmore Hospital, Strathmore Handi-bus, Strathmore FCSS and Strathmore Legion, who made her last years more comfortable. Service and Celebration of Life to be held at Royal Canadian Legion, 230 – 2nd Ave Strathmore on Friday April 7th, 2017 between 12:30 and 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund.
