ELLSWORTH, Allan “Al” Ernest
It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Al on August 2, 2017 at the age of 53. He was taken way too soon. Al was predeceased by his father Elmer (2002) his mother Diane (2008) and his sister Lorie (Greg) (2016). Survived by his nephews Aidan and Seth, uncle Ken, uncle LeVerne and many cousins. Known as “uncle Al” to many of his friends children who loved him dearly.
Al was a true example of a confident outdoorsman who took pleasure in hunting, fishing, camping, quadding, exploring the mountains and was a rockhound. A humble man who lived a full life also enjoyed curling, water skiing, snow skiing, hiking, golf, exploring mines, the history of any railroad, reading, Youtube documentaries and telling stories.
Al worked in many capacities of Water Treatment in Alberta and B.C. He was a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Level IV. Al was the Chief Operator of the Westside Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant in Kelowna at the time of his passing.
We would like to thank his friends and volunteers who spent countless hours, in the search for Al.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held at The Coast Canmore Hotel, 511 Bow Valley Trail, Canmore AB. on October 28, 3:00 pm – till the last story is shared! Room rates are available. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to OTRA (Okanagan Trail Riders Association.) or The Canadian Mental Health Association in Kelowna.
