The Rockyford Library will host their fourth annual Easter Art Camp from April 18 to 21, with Drumheller artist Vicki Myers returning for her third year to instruct.
“I like that we are all creating together, all ages and skills over four days, totally immersed,” said Myers. “(It’s) so good to see the older kids take on helping and sharing what they know (with the younger kids).”
During the week, participants will work on several different projects, while using different skills such as drawing, painting, clay, writing, textiles and learning how to look at the environment. They will also be working with power tools for some of the projects.
“We work on quite a few projects. Some are put together in a way that builds into another. We will work with temporary art as well as some science and art,” said Myers. “I like to get across to the kids that creating is not only in making art, but can be a part of everyday living.”
The camp is aimed at children aged six to 12. The fee is $40, and hours each day are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants bring their own packed lunch and snacks. Contact the Rockyford Library at 403-533-3964 to register.
