CHRISTENSEN, Deborah-Ann (Debi)
It is with deep sadness that we announce the very sudden passing of our dear wife, mother and ‘Gramma’, Debi Christensen (nee Rolfe) on Thursday January 19, 2017 at the age of 62. Debi was born in Edmonton, spent some time in Houston, Texas with her family and eventually settled in Calgary. After graduating high school, she pursued a career in nursing. A committed city girl, she met Barry Christensen and they married in 1978. They moved to the homestead farm near Carseland in 1981. She transformed into an eager farm girl, raising two children and eventually a herd of about 50 Black Angus cattle. Since selling the cattle a few years ago, she enjoyed crochetting and knitting, spending time with the grandkids and relaxing a few weeks each winter in Maui. She especially enjoyed having morning coffees with her very close friend Janet. Debi is survived by her loving husband Barry; son Douglas (Megan), grandsons Kristian and Simon; daughter Joanna (Tyler); father Keith Rolfe (Angela) of Sydney, BC; brother Jay Rolfe (Margaret) of Victoria, BC and numerous other relatives. She was predeceased by her mother Anne Rolfe in 1991. A celebration of Debi’s life will take place on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Lord of All Lutheran Church (Strathmore) at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Epilepsy Association of Calgary (4112 – 4 St. NW, Calgary, AB T2K 1A2) or (www.epilepsycalgary.com) in her memory.
