The Strathmore Municipal Library will be hosting the fourth annual Christmas market on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 10-4 p.m. in the lobby and meeting room of the library.
There will be approximately 17 vendors displaying their products; some of the vendors will include Bee’s on a Quest, Endeavour More Living, Scentsy, Norwex, Twisted Arts and Wild Whisper (crafting supplies).
Carmen Erison, assistant director of library services, said the market was developed in a way to become a partial fundraiser for the library, and also “a cost effective way for vendors to sell their products.”
Endeavour More Living, Bee’s on a Quest and homemade lollipops will be new this year.
“You’ll see a great selection of items,” said Erison.
Items will include art, books, cards, knitted and crocheted items, homemade earrings, home-made lollipops, wood signs and mason jar crafts.
Local author and artist Marjorie Hembroff is going to have her two books available as well.
“There’s a great selection of products available at the market,” said Erison. “Everything to help you fill that Christmas wish list.
“We’re welcoming some new businesses such as Wild Whisper, a new scrapbooking company that’s opened up in Calgary,” she added.
Young Charlie will be in attendance to do face painting for tips; Erison described her as young and very enthusiastic.
There will be 12 five-foot tables and five eight-foot tables available, and the cost of the tables will go towards the library fundraiser. Vendors will be required to donate one item to the library. There will also be a silent auction in December and all proceeds will go directly to the library.
