The issue of dust control on Range Road 222 was dealt with in Wheatland Council on June 21.
Will Kouts, an area resident, appeared before council asking for a formal reply to the issue.
“It is an issue that started a long time ago and it is so simple, yet it has become so complicated,” said Kouts.
He asked that direct responses should be given residents for these kinds of issues. Forwarding the response to a lawyer seemed like a waste of taxpayer money.
“We have educated people who could respond,” said Kouts. “We are all grassroots people; in the future let’s keep it simple.”
Council directed staff to maintain dust control on the prescribed portion of Range Road 222, and that letters of the decision and legal position be sent to the four families that had concerns.
