The Strathmore High School girls Spartans basketball team were able to get revenge against the Holy Trinity Academy Knights on Feb. 4 at the high school.
The win was extra sweet considering the Knights beat them earlier in the year to knock the Spartans from the number five to the number 10 seed in the rankings, where they still sit.
Despite the loss in January the girls were not going to be defeated again, especially on their home court.
“It was a time to say okay, we got to play and we can’t just assume we’re going to win,” said Spartan head coach Dion Galandy.
“This was our first game in a month. We had a first half of adjustments and we decided, let’s take it to them.”
Galandy has been impressed this far with how healthy the line-up has been.
“I have been impressed with that we haven’t had as many injuries as we did last year and I think we might have a girl that broke her finger this game, that’ll put us in a little bit of a hole,” said Galandy.
“This is the second half that starts in February that really makes us or breaks us.”
The girls had two home games left and hope to jump up in the rankings again before the season is complete.
