Terrance Harry Nelson (Terry), 63, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, November 19, 2015 in Drumheller, Alberta after a valiant battle with a long illness. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
Terry was born on August 21, 1952 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan to Donald and Hilda Nelson. His family moved to Calgary in 1954 where he later met, then married, his high school sweetheart, the love of his life, Barbara, and started a family. Terry and Barb moved to Strathmore to raise their children, returning to Calgary once they had grown, and recently settled in Drumheller.
Terry worked for over thirty years in the automotive industry. He started his career in high school working for Grosser Automotive stocking shelves and finished his career as Sales and Marketing Manager Western Division for Napa Auto Parts Canada. Terry felt very blessed to have had made such amazing lifelong friendships.
Terry left loving memories with his adoring wife, Barbara; daughter, Tara (Carl) and son Danny (Trish). He delighted in his grandchildren; Shaun, Katelynn, Zander and Xavier. He is also survived by three brothers; Jack (Ruth) Nelson, Don (Jeanne) Nelson, and Ken (Marilyn) Nelson and a sister, Gail (Dwight) Gilmour; three brothers-in-law; Glenn (Darlene) Pearson, Jerry (Debbie) Pearson, and Tim (Karen) Pearson and a sister-in-law Shirley (Wayne) Desjardins; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Rockyview Alliance Church (6927 Rundlehorn Drive NE, Calgary, Alberta).
